STREET DREAMS FESTIVAL SET TO ILLUMINATE FORBES
Forbes is set to glow with colour and creativity when the brand-new Street Dreams Festival lights up the town this September.
Taking place in Victoria Park on Court Street, Saturday 27 September from 5pm to 9pm, Street Dreams is a celebration of art, light, storytelling and community spirit.
This FREE event will transform Harold Street, Victoria Park and Forbes Town Hall into vibrant cultural spaces filled with interactive light displays, creative installations, live performances, and delicious food options.
The Street Dreams Festival is the first of a three-year series that aims to strengthen social connection, support local creatives, and enhance the vibrancy of the Forbes community through inclusive, accessible arts programming.
Street Dreams Festival is proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Open Streets Program, led by Transport for NSW. The initiative is designed to reimagine public streets as lively, welcoming spaces that support local businesses and community connection.

The Hands Behind the Magic
This October, the Forbes Visitor Information Centre will once again host the popular Meet The Makers event on Sunday the 12th of October from 10m – 1pm. Now in its second year, this special showcase offers the community the chance to connect with the local producers and discover the stories behind their unique creations.
Visitors can enjoy free samples, tastings, demonstrations and giveaways all while meeting the passionate people who grow, craft, and create the locally sourced products. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore Forbes’s thriving local food and maker scene, while supporting the talented producers who bring so much flavor and creativity to our region.

FORBES NATIONAL BBQ CHAMPIONSHIPS
Forbes is set to fire up this October with the Forbes National BBQ Championships, a two-day celebration of competition grilling and smoking. Held at Grinsted Oval on Saturday 18th (12-8pm) and Sunday 19th (10am-4pm), the event will showcase the best in BBQ with local and national teams battling it out for the title of 2025 National BBQ champion and share in the impressive $20,000 prize pool.
Alongside the fierce competition, visitors can enjoy a fantastic festival atmosphere featuring live music, bar, food trucks, cooking demonstrations, BBQ stalls, and a special celebrity chef appearance by Chef Patrick De Leon. With more than two decades of hands-on experience and smoke in his veins, Chef Patrick De Leon is a true master of the flame.
Whether you’re a BBQ enthusiast, a foodie, or simply looking for a great weekend out, the event promises plenty of flavor and entertainment for the whole family.

The 149th annual show returns on Saturday, 13th September held at the Forbes Showground, promising a day of jam-packed entertainment. The Forbes Show will have the usual favorites – Fireworks. side show alley, face painting, market stalls, show bags and pavilion exhibits plus animal nursery and barrel racing.

Pack your picnic rug, bring along your favourite teddy, and get ready for a magical day of family fun! The much-loved Teddy Bears’ Picnic returns on Saturday 1st November, from 10:00am to 1:00pm, at our brand-new location – Frogs Hollow, on the corner of Riley and Lawler Street.
This free community event is the perfect day out for families, with games, live entertainment, fun activities, delicious food options, and plenty of surprises for children of all ages. Kids can enjoy interactive workshops, meet special guests, and of course, celebrate the day with their beloved teddy bears.
This premier, fully accessible, outdoor event will be held on Saturday 1st November 2025.
