“Where Frost Meets Fire: Forbes Ignites Winter with Frost and Fire”
Embrace the spirit of a cherished Australian winter evening – Frost and Fire invites you to join a bonfire night like no other! Saturday 21st June we will be on the peaceful banks of Lake Forbes at the Ski Dam enjoying live music, featuring our headliners The Wolfe Brothers alongside some incredibly talented supporting acts such as Ripley Alexander, Baker Boys Band, Foxxy Cleopatra, and Easy Goin’.
We’re thrilled to ignite the celebration for the sixth year running and welcome numerous delicious food vendors, boutique brews, roving entertainment, fire and pyrotechnic performances and of course, plenty to satisfy both the Frost AND the Fire.
Enjoy a night with friends, family and fame under the stars to celebrate the winter solstice – by igniting your heart, delighting your tastebuds, enjoying the spectacular lighting of not one but two incredible effigies and later burning up the dance floor!

Building Stronger Communities Through Tourism
Forbes attends 2025 LGNSW Destination & Visitor Economy Conference!
In May, Forbes had the opportunity to attend the 2025 Local Government NSW (LGNSW) Destination and Visitor Economy Conference, held in the beautiful coastal town of Kingscliff.
The event brought together councils from across NSW to discuss the important role tourism plays in growing our local economies, creating jobs and building stronger, more resilient communities.
Highlights of the conference included inspiring keynote speakers such as NSW 24-Hour Economy Commissioner, Michael Rodrigues, and former Lonely Planet Executive Director, Gus Balbontin – who shared knowledge on the future of tourism and how we can better connect visitors with our unique, local experiences.
Attendees also enjoyed hands-on tours including a cultural walk, museum visit, cycle trail adventures, and a stop at the Husk Rum Distillery – each offering a real-world look at how tourism can enrich a region.
This conference was about more than just ideas – it was about turning inspiration into action. With the knowledge and connections gained, we’re excited to keep growing our visitor economy and creating more opportunities for our Amazing! region.
